The United Nations University (UNU) Fellowship Programme 2026 offers a fully funded opportunity for early-career researchers to advance their studies in Japan. Specifically, the programme is jointly organized by UNU–Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU‑IAS) and the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS). Moreover, it allows postdoctoral researchers to work under the guidance of leading Japanese academics, fostering collaboration and innovation in sustainability and related fields.
Furthermore, the fellowship provides comprehensive support, including a monthly stipend, round-trip airfare, and a settling-in allowance, ensuring that fellows can fully focus on their research. In addition, the programme covers travel insurance and offers access to UNU’s extensive global research network. Consequently, fellows gain valuable international experience while contributing to important global sustainability initiatives. For more opportunities click here
